Behaviour styles: DISC

Why is there a link with some people from the very first moment and is it a real challenge to communicate or collaborate with others? Everyone is unique and has a particular character. Each person has his or her own ingrained and often unconscious behavioural patterns leading to success and satisfaction or to failure and frustration. Becoming aware of this in ourself and others is the first step towards even better results and personal growth.

The DISC model maps out preferred behaviour and communication.

This allows you to visualize your own preferences and those of others in different environments. Therefor you will understand (better) what motivates yourself and others and why you make certain choices and have preferences.

DISC promotes open communication, strengthens relationships and increases personal effectiveness!

The letters DISC stand for:

D = Decisive, Direct
How you handle and respond to problems and challenges; Fast actions and task-oriented

I = Interactive, Inspiring
How you move and persuade others of your point of view; Fast actions and people-oriented

S = Stable, Social
How you deal with and respond to changes in your environment; Quiet approach and people-oriented

C = Conforming, Conscientious
How you respond to and deal with details, set rules and procedures; Quiet approach and task-oriented

Understanding these 4 personality styles helps you to communicate better, prevent or reduce conflicts, appreciate differences in others, gain trust and influence others positively.

After this training you are able to estimate the behaviour style of others and to align your own behaviour accordingly.

“Resemblances are the shadows of differences. Different people see different similarities and similar differences.”
Vladimir Nabokov
